TEDx Fireside Chat
TEDx Fireside Chat
In my fireside chat with Dee Roberts-Molloy, I speak candidly about my initial struggle to accept my transgender child and the difficult emotions that followed their coming out. I reflects on the fear, grief, judgement and uncertainty I had to confront, as well as the lessons I learned while supporting them through social and medical transition. Our conversation explores how honesty, compassion and understanding can transform resistance into acceptance and strengthen the relationship between parent and child.
Having faced my own challenges and adversity, I know how difficult it can be to change direction, rebuild confidence and challenge limiting beliefs. I now empower individuals and business owners to create positive change, achieve their goals and become the people they aspire to be. This talk was given at a TEDx event in Wolverhampton using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
